Our living room is my favorite spot in the morning. It faces East and has a very large front window area.
Outside, I have set up a bird feeding station with water, a flat, open feeder for seeds, and a hanging suet holder.
Chester, our cat, likes to perch upon the bench in front of those windows to watch the birds. He often makes comments in cat-talk to tell of his mighty hunts in his past life and his dissatisfaction with not being allowed outside to show off his prowess. In the winter, the sun rises and shines in through the windows from the right side as I look out.
The windows are very tall, taking up 3/4 of the wall height and 2/3 of the wall length. As the sun rays progress across the floor, the entire room glows with the warm light and color.
