The web and the dead

I saw between two wires above,

which take electricity 'round,

a spider's web of silk and love

intricately wound.

Down below, a mourning dove

lay dead upon the ground.

It's mate nearby gives ' a shove

cooing that sorrowful sound.

In contemplation of this stuff

I made some quick connections:

The web of silk and spider fluff,

unaffected by electrons,

was not the case for bird feet rough

and from my intuition,

I think it landed then a quick "Puff",

it's mate now sings incantations.
