Recently, I revisited a grocery store to review its compatibility with a greener experience. I went prepared, as I am generally more prepared than I used to be, with containers and bags in hand. I needed just a few items and found getting away with naked vegetables and fruit comes at a higher price of course, but no guilt.
At the deli counter I was attended by a seemingly new fellow. I presented my containers and, after he understood what I wanted, he had no issue with placing the sliced and weighed cheeses into those.
Not accounting for time (it was a very slow process at the deli), the green purchase here was easy and satisfying. I had to alter some of my desires to accommodate the lack of choice among naked produce, but in the end I could still make what I wanted with what I got. Not bad Murfin's!
