Travelling Tuesdays recommenced with a trip to Pittsburg. That's Pittsburg, Kansas, not Pennsylvania. A tour of an old and lavish church with a rich history told by a life-long member who is also a retired professor of history from the university there. Wow!
The church is a combination of original and new, well blended and incorporates a dome from another church of old that was in disrepair. There is a thriving community of members and non-members who admire their historic building and maintain the old with the new, not forgetting the history, but making their own. They seem to believe that one way to keep it alive is to use it but not abuse it. Well done!
I will let the pictures speak the story for me, but want to say it was a great day to learn and live such an all-encompassing love.
