2nd Bloom

With the onset of the unseasonal and extended warmth this autumn, I have been witness to many second blooms: Flowering Almond bushes, Crabapple trees, Iris, Flowering Cherries and even Roses. While delighting in the extra beauty allowed us this season, I stand in wonder of the forces that are at work to bring us this encore. The stored energy in the roots, the signal to produce another bloom, defying the season we're in; all of these things come from a complex natural order in distress. Even so, I choose to enjoy the beauty around me as long as it lasts and in whatever form it comes.
